Kremlin spokesman says has no data about Russia’s losses in military operation in Ukraine

It was also mentioned tha the Russian president receives complete information about the operation

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday he has no data on Russia’s losses during the special military operation in Ukraine.

"We don’t have such information. I have no such data and cannot share them with you," he told journalists, adding that information about Russia’s losses will be available after the operation is over.

When asked whether Russia’s losses in the operation are reported to President Vladimir Putin, he said, "The Russian president receives complete information about the operation, full information is reported."

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in order to protect people "who have been suffering from abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories.

When clarifying the unfolding developments, the Russian Defense Ministry reassured that Russian troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are limited to surgically striking and incapacitating Ukrainian military infrastructure. There are no threats whatsoever to the civilian population.

Meanwhile, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday that the Russian side was sustaining losses during the operation. "Russian servicemen are showing courage and heroism during the special military operation. But, regrettably, there are killed and wounded among them," he said, adding that Russia’s losses are by far fewer than "losses among Ukrainian troops" and nationalists.
