The Alba plant in Bahrain is one of the largest aluminum producers

TUNIS, March 4. /TASS/. Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) declared force majeure on its contracts, a company spokesperson told Reuters.

"It's because what's happening in the Strait of Hormuz, we are not able to ship," the spokesperson said. "So we're producing, but the metal is here in Alba," he added.

The Alba plant in Bahrain is one of the largest aluminum producers. According to Asharq news outlet, its production capacity is over 1.6 mln metric tons annually.
