CHISINAU, October 21. /TASS/. Moldova is interested in maintaining the contract with Gazprom and supplies of Russian gas in full, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrey Spinu in an interview with the Newsmaker portal.

He was commenting on Gazprom's statement about the violation of contractual obligations by the Moldovan gas distribution company Moldovagaz.

"We have never been in favor of terminating the contract with Gazprom. It is in our interests to keep this contract and for Gazprom to continue gas supplies. This is our only goal," Spinu said.

In early October, Gazprom announced that it reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time due to the gross violation of timeframe to conclude the agreement for settlement of the legacy debt of Moldovagaz. The gas holding also drew attention to the regular delays in payment for current deliveries.
