Gazprom lowers gas supplies over Nord Stream due to Siemens equipment problems

It is also reported that the available throughput capacity of the Nord Stream will be lowered from June 3 to 17 because of the scheduled inspection of the pipeline

MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. Gazprom has to lower natural gas supplies over the Nord Stream pipeline against the schedule due to untimely return of gas pumping units from repair by Siemens and identified malfunctions of motors, the Russian gas holding said on Tuesday.

"Only three gas pumping units can now be used at the Portovaya compressor station due to untimely return of gas pumping units by Siemens from repair, exhausted time between repairs of gas pumping units and identified technical failures of motors," the company said.

Gazprom can only provide for gas pumping over the gas pipeline up to 100 mln cubic meters daily because of that, compared to 167 mln cubic meters per day under the plan.

The available throughput capacity of the Nord Stream will be lowered from June 3 to 17 because of the scheduled inspection of the pipeline, CEGH REMIT platform reported earlier.

According to Nord Stream AG, the project operator, scheduled activities with the temporary shutdown of both lines will take place at the Nord Stream pipeline from July 11 to 21.
