MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The serially produced seaborne Pantsir-M air defense missile system successfully engaged the Storm Shadow cruise missile, CEO of High Precision Weapons company Oleg Ryazantsev said.
"A ship on a combat duty engaged the Storm Shadow missile. In other words, we can already speak about the first successful use of the serially produced Pantsir-M system against the Storm Shadow cruise missile," the chief executive said in an interview with Zvezda Plus television.
The Pantsir-M "is the system designed to counter threats of such kind," Ryazantsev added.
He talked as well about missiles of the Iskander tactical ballistic missile system. According to Ryazantsev, they were adapted for technology challenges of the special military operation.
"The system was very quickly improved for relevant realities of the special military operations, for technology challenges formulated by the enemy. From my point of view, we coped quickly and proficiently with this task," Ryazantsev said. "This refers specifically to the missile," he noted.
"Exactly so," the chief executive said, responding to a follow-up question whether the ballistic missile of the system is meant.
