Belarusians being recruited to commit terror attacks in Russia — Belarusian official

MINSK, March 4. /TASS/. Special services of a range of countries are using the internet to recruit Belarusian nationals to commit terror attacks in Russia, a high-ranking official of the Belarusian interior ministry said.

"Special services of other countries - Ukraine, Poland - use our citizens to commit crimes both in Belarus and mostly in Russia. They recruit these people in the internet," Andrey Ananenko, chief of the ministry’s main organized crime and corruption directorate, said in an interview with the STB television channel.

According to Ananenko, as the recruits are tasked to commit terror attacks on critical infrastructure facilities, such as railways, and enterprises. "We see certain negative tendencies in this area, namely the use of our citizens for committing grave crimes," he added.
