Russian defense companies ready for new export contracts despite special op — CEO

The defense industry should primarily meet the Defense Ministry’s needs, CEO of Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheyev said

BENGALURU /India/, February 14. /TASS/. Russian defense companies are ready to sign new export contracts, despite the special military operation being conducted in Ukraine, Alexander Mikheyev, CEO of Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport, said at the Aero India 2023 international air show on Tuesday.

Commenting on how the special military operation has affected his company’s business, Mikheyev said, "As the Russian Army is busy carrying out the most important tasks, <…> the defense industry should primarily meet the Defense Ministry’s needs. Meanwhile, our enterprises have been a success executing the current contracts and see no obstacles to signing new export deals."

The 14th Aero India 2023 international air show runs in Bangalore on February 13-17. The India air show is held once every two years. Russia is an active participant in the Indian air shows and features over 200 military products this year.
