WASHINGTON, January 21. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has once again signed a decree on the country's withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.
Trump did this in the presence of his supporters at the Capital One sports and concert complex in Washington.
Trump has repeatedly expressed doubts about the scientific validity of the concept of global warming. In 2017, he withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. By November 2020, the country had completed the process of withdrawing from the agreement, but in January 2021, then-US President Joe Biden signed an executive order returning Washington to the Paris Agreement.
The Paris Climate Agreement was signed in December 2015, with 195 countries signing on. Under its terms, participating countries pledged to voluntarily reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the coming decades in order to limit the increase in average annual temperature to 1.5 or 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels of global economic development.
