BEIRUT, December 17. /TASS/. Syrian air defense systems are repelling an Israeli attack near Damascus, the SANA news agency said.
"Syria’s air defense systems are repelling Israel’s aggressive attacks," it said, citing a source in the Syrians army command.
According to the Sham FM radio station, Syrian army positions in the Damas neighborhood also came under attack. No details are available.
On December 11, Israeli aircraft delivered strikes on Damascus’ Seyida Zeinab and Aqraba neighborhoods, as well as on military facilities near Damascus’ international airport. Six fighters of Shiite units fighting for the Syrian government army were killed and three civilians were wounded.
