Ruling to block over 400 web resources, including RBC, issued in Ukraine

Suspicions of large-scale fraud or illegal operations using electronics and computer technology were cited as a foundation for the court decision

KIEV, February 25. /TASS/. Kiev’s police have submitted to Ukraine’s National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization a court decision on blocking 426 internet resources, many of them Russian, the commission’s official website said.

It is noted that "the investigation department of the Goloseevsky police directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kiev sent a letter <...> to the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization with the ruling of an investigative judge of Kiev’s Goloseevsky district court" prescribing "to arrest intellectual property rights of Internet users when using web resources" listed on the regulator’s webpage. The list includes the websites of RBC and the Argumenty nedeli. Suspicions of large-scale fraud or illegal operations using electronics and computer technology were cited as a foundation for the ruling.

Earlier, it was reported that Kharkov’s Kievsky District Court decreed to block four Telegram channels criticizing the government. This happened due to a criminal case against owners of these channels for allegedly cooperating with Russia to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.
