NASA assists Roscosmos in troubleshooting of Progress MS-21 coolant leak

NEW YORK, February 11. /TASS/. The US’ National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) helps Russia’s state space agency Roscosmos to identify the causes of the coolant leak on the Progress MS-21 resupply vehicle at the International Space Station (ISS), NASA said on Saturday.

"NASA specialists are assisting their Russian counterparts in the troubleshooting of the Progress 82 coolant leak," NASA wrote on its website adding that "officials are monitoring all International Space Station systems."

Sergey Krikalev, executive director for manned space programs of the Roscosmos State Corporation, told reporters earlier on Saturday that there was a coolant leak from the Progress MS-21 thermal control system and added that the current situation was similar to the incident that happened to Soyuz MS-22.

Depressurization was detected on the Progress MS-21 freighter, which was expected to end its mission at the ISS on February 18. The spacecraft has been isolated from the International Space Station (ISS). Roscosmos said that the causes of depressurization are being investigated, and emphasized that it had no effect on either the docking of the Progress MS-22 cargo spacecraft to the ISS or the further program of the ISS flight.
