West demonstrates ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’ in Africa, says Russian diplomat

In this respect the issue here is not about the West’s attention to the continent that has intensified recently, but about "desperate attempts by the collective West to maintain its neocolonial empire," Bogdanov added

MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. Western countries demonstrate "unsportsmanlike tools" of work in Africa, seeking to replenish essential resources lost as a result of the anti-Russia line, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said in an interview with TASS.

"Today, especially after Russia and the West came to a parting of the ways through no fault of ours, Western countries are facing an urgent necessity to replenish essential resources that have been lost, for supporting their industry and for economic development and, if possible, with minimum expenses. Their goal [in Africa] now is to solve existentialist issues, so to say. It can be seen in the tools they use, mostly ‘unsportsmanlike’, including ‘laws’ restricting Russia’s activities in Africa, sanctions, stop lists, threats, blackmail," he said.

In this respect the issue here is not about the West’s attention to the continent that has intensified recently, but about "desperate attempts by the collective West to maintain its neocolonial empire," Bogdanov added.
