Injuries reported in Ukrainian strike against Russian drilling rigs, says Crimea’s leader

Twelve people manned the drilling rigs and five of them have been rescued by now, with three of them wounded, Sergey Aksyonov revealed

SIMFEROPOL, June 20. /TASS/. Ukraine delivered a strike against drilling rigs belonging to the Crimea-based gas company Chernomorneftegaz, wounding three workers and the search for others missing continues, Crimea’s Head Sergey Aksyonov wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.

"Today, at about 8 o’clock in the morning, enemy forces delivered a strike against drilling rigs owned by Chernomorneftegaz. I have been in touch with colleagues from the Defense Ministry and the FSB [Federal Security Service] since this morning and we are working to save people. Twelve people manned the drilling rigs and five of them have been rescued by now, with three of them wounded. The search for the others continues," Aksyonov said.

The Russian Defense Ministry is carrying out a rescue operation involving patrol vessels and aircraft, he added.
