Russian Cabinet keeps beef, poultry import quota for 2025 flat in annual terms

The poultry import quota remains at the level of 364,000 metric tons just as in prior years

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Quotas for import of bovine meat and poultry will remain at the level of this year in 2025.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a relevant decree. The document was posted.

The quota for fresh or chilled beef remains as 40,000 metric tons, including 29,000 metric tons for the European Union and 11,000 metric tons for other countries. The quota of 530,000 metric tons is provided for frozen bovine meat. 60,000 metric tons are anticipated for each of the EU and the US, 3,000 metric tons for Costa Roca, and 407,000 metric tons for other countries.

The poultry import quota remains at the level of 364,000 metric tons just as in prior years. Frozen deboned chicken meat accounts for 100,000 metric tons, including 80,000 metric tons for the EU and 20,000 metric tons for other countries. The allocations are 250,000 metric tons for frozen non-deboned halves and quarters and 14,000 metric tons for frozen dressed turkeys.

Russia starts setting import quotas in 2023. The duty is equal to zero within the quota and to 65% beyond quota limits.
