Trade turnover between Russia, India to total $30 bln by end-2022

It is reported that despite the Western countries’ pressure, the two states managed to maintain the cooperation dynamics

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Trade turnover between Russia and India may total $30 bln by the end of 2022, according to a statement released following the meeting of co-chairs of the intergovernmental Russian-Indian commission on trade-economic, science-technical and cultural cooperation.

"It was noted that strong growth was demonstrated by bilateral trade turnover, which may well approach the target set by the leaders of the two countries of $30 bln by the end of this year," the statement released by the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov on Tuesday reads.

Despite the Western countries’ pressure, the two states managed to maintain the cooperation dynamics, the minister said.

"The relationship with India has the character of a strategic partnership, being of great importance to us. Despite the Western countries’ pressure, we managed to maintain the deepness of bilateral cooperation, and we are satisfied with the dynamics of the political dialogue with India. The comprehensive, multi-faceted cooperation in the area of trade and investment is successfully developing, as well as industrial cooperation between our countries is expanding on a wide range of directions," Manturov was quoted as saying.
