St. Petersburg governor unveils number of countries, VIPs attending SPIEF-2022

The authorities expect over 5,000 representatives of Russian and foreign companies, including 1,500 top managers, to take part in the event, Alexander Beglov specified

ST. PETERSBURG, June 15. /TASS/. The 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be as significant as previous ones, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said in an interview with TASS.

"Despite the complicated international situation, we expect a large number of participants at SPIEF. SPIEF-2022 involves more than 140 countries and territories. We expect over 5,000 representatives of Russian and foreign companies, including 1,500 top managers, to take part in the event," the St. Petersburg governor specified.

According to Beglov, 43 ministers from various countries and 84 diplomatic chiefs confirmed their participation two weeks prior to SPIEF. He also noted that 77 heads of Russian regions, 32 heads of federal services and agencies, 16 Russian ministers and nine deputy prime ministers planned to visit St. Petersburg.

Beglov pointed out that the SPIEF-2022 business agenda would include discussions on a new economic order, development investments, the Russian economy’s new goals, the development and introduction of advanced technologies.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, organized by the Roscongress Foundation, is taking place on June 15-18. The topic of this year’s forum is New Opportunities in a New World. The event will particularly include SME and creative business forums, the Drug Security Forum, the SPIEF Junior Dialogue and the SPIEF Sport Week.
