Over two million people evacuated from Ukraine, Donbass to Russia — Defense Ministry

23,775 people, including 3,676 children, have been evacuated to Russian from dangerous areas of the Donbass republics and Ukraine in the past 24 hours

MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. Russia has evacuated, without any involvement of the Kiev authorities, more than two million people, including over 300,000 children, from dangerous areas of Ukraine and the Donbass republics to Russia since the special military operation began, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Wednesday.

"Despite all the obstacles created by official Kiev, 23,775 people, including 3,676 children, have been evacuated to the Russian Federation from dangerous areas of the Donbass republics and Ukraine in the past 24 hours, without any participation of the Ukrainian authorities," said Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine.

"Since the beginning of the special military operation a total of 2,026,548 people, including 321,820 children, have been [evacuated]," he added.
