Israeli strike on refugee camp in Gaza kills at least 13 — TV

According to the broadcaster, a charity kitchen that provided free hot meals in the camp came under attack

DUBAI, March 27. /TASS/. At least 13 people have been killed and several others have suffered injuries in an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Central Gaza Strip, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV channel reported.

According to the broadcaster, a charity kitchen that provided free hot meals in the camp came under attack.

Al Jazeera notes that at least 26 people were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza on Wednesday. However, the death toll is expected to rise "as people with serious injuries have been taken to nearby hospitals."

On March 18, the Israeli military resumed military operations in Gaza, carrying out intensive strikes on the enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that the move was due to Hamas’s rejection of proposals put forward by mediators and US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the Israeli authorities, the goal of the operation is to ensure the release of all hostages held in Gaza. Hamas, in turn, blamed Israel and the US for the resumption of military activities.
