WASHINGTON, December 17. /TASS/. US congressional leaders have reached an agreement on a bill on extending the financing of the federal government until March 14, 2025, Politico reported, citing its sources.
According to the media outlet, the initiative will involve over $100 bln in disaster relief as well as additional restrictions on US investment in China.
Politico noted that US House Speaker Mike Johnson said that the text of the bill could be released on Tuesday, and lawmakers might not have a full 72 hours to review the measure before passing it, "according to two people who attended the closed-door meeting."
"If the House passes the package toward the end of the week, it will land in the Senate just ahead of the Friday night government shutdown deadline," the media outlet pointed out.
The legislators have not yet approved the draft budget for the current fiscal year which began on October 1. The temporary financing for the federal government has been agreed on only until December 20.
