Kazakhstan ready to host talks on Ukraine — envoy to Spain

Diplomacy is the wisest approach in today's age, Danat Mussayev noted, adding that it should take the interests of all parties into account

MADRID, April 15. /TASS/. Kazakhstan wants the Ukraine conflict to be resolved diplomatically, and it has expressed readiness to provide a venue for any negotiations between the parties from the very beginning, the republic's ambassador to Spain, Danat Mussayev, has said.

The diplomat told the ABC newspaper that Kazakhstan has "good relations both with Ukraine and Russia." "We are close with the two countries," he said. "We are supporters of a peaceful resolution to the conflict, there are no alternatives," he added. "From the very beginning, we have been willing to provide the necessary venue for any negotiations between the two sides," Musayev added.

Diplomacy is the wisest approach in today's age, the ambassador said, adding that it should take the interests of all parties into account.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his February interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson that Russia was all for dialogue on Ukraine but would no longer initiate any talks following the breakdown in negotiations that occurred in Istanbul in March 2022.
