MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that the blockade of border crossings with Poland by Polish protesters has gone to a point where it no longer has economic or moral justification.
"It is necessary to finally find a solution to the situation, in particular, on the Polish border, which has long gone beyond the boundaries of both economy and morality," he said in a video posted to his Telegram channel.
Zelensky said he believes that Poland should not use the situation in Ukraine "in its internal political struggle."
Relations between Kiev and Warsaw escalated following the blockade by Polish farmers. The farmers demand the cancellation of benefits that the EU granted to truckers from Ukraine after February 24, 2022. They also protest against the lack of curbs on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
Last month, Zelensky suggested that the two countries and a European Commission representative hold talks at the border to resolve the situation. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the governments of Poland and Ukraine would discuss the settlement of the situation on the border at the end of March.
