Jordan Bardella succeeds Marine Le Pen as leader of France’s National Rally

Perpignan Mayor Louis Aliot, Bardella’s only competitor, managed to receive only 15.16% of the vote

PARIS, November 5. /TASS/. European Parliament member Jordan Bardella has been elected president of France’s National Rally party, which was led by Marine Le Pen before the 2022 French presidential election campaign.

Le Pen announced the results of an internal party vote at the National Rally’s congress.

Perpignan Mayor Louis Aliot, Bardella’s only competitor, managed to receive only 15.16% of the vote, which involved 36,600 party members.

Bardella became the National Rally’s acting president in July 2021 after Le Pen had decided to focus on the 2022 presidential campaign.
