Surgut State University to double places for IT students in 2021-2022

December 9. /TASS/. Surgut State University will increase admissions for applicants in the 2021-2022 academic year, the university will provide free education to more than 1,500 students, the rector of the university Sergei Kosenok said in an interview with TASS.

"In 2021, there was an increase in the number of places. The university plans to admit students for 1,585 state-funded places. Moreover, the number of places for training IT specialists has doubled," the rector noted.

He said that 1,527 state-funded places were allocated to the university in 2020. For 2021, the number of places in undergraduate and residency has been increased. "In particular, the number of places for undergraduate programs has increased from 635 to 700 due to an increase in admission to such areas of training as "Construction", "Informatics and Computer Engineering", "Information Systems and Technologies", "Software Engineering", explained the rector.
