Laos receives application for registration of Russian Orthodox Church

Alexander Radkov emphasized that "the Laotian authorities are generally supportive of this initiative."

The Russian Embassy in Laos has submitted an application to the country’s Interior Ministry for official registration of the Russian Orthodox Church in the country, Alexander Radkov, the head of the local office of Russia’s Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, told TASS.

"The initiative to create a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church in Laos appeared several years ago. To date, it has been put into practice, an application for registration of a religious and social organization of the Russian Orthodox Church has been submitted to the Laotian Interior Ministry. It is now under consideration. We hope that in time a plot of land will be selected and a church will be built," he said.
