New projects making possible to boost gas supplies to Uzbekistan — Lavrov

Russian investments are among having the largest scale in the economy of Uzbekistan, the Russian foreign minister noted

SAMARKAND, April 23. /TASS/. A range of new infrastructural projects will make it possible to boost twofold Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference.

"Cooperation in the gas sphere is also growing. The whole range of infrastructural projects is being implemented there, which will make it possible to double gas supplies from the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan," the top Russian diplomat said.

Russian investments are among having the largest scale in the economy of Uzbekistan, Lavrov noted. "Concerning the trade turnover, we hold about 18% of total indicators of Uzbekistan in relations with foreign trade partners, and this is far from the limit," he stressed.
