UNITED NATIONS, April 3. /TASS/. The hasty withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Russia’s bordering Kursk Region as a result of the Russian military operation did not leave the Kiev regime any time to conceal the evidence of its crimes, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said.
"On March 8, the Russian Army launched a large-scale operation directed at driving out remaining enemy forces. The sudden and secretive nature of the operation helped get deep behind the Ukrainian frontlines and forced Ukrainian troops to flee urgently, without leaving them any time to conceal the evidence of their crimes. At this time, almost all of [the Kursk Region] is back under Russia’s control," he said at an informal session of the UN Security Council on the Kiev regime’s crimes.
The Russian diplomat pointed out that, while fleeing en masse, Ukrainian troops were abandoning expensive Western-made hardware. When retreating, Ukrainian forces rigged the area with mines, including attaching explosive devices to children’s toys.
In March, Russia’s Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin said that a military court had already found 46 Ukrainian soldiers guilty of crimes against civilians in the Kursk Region, and criminal charges against 92 more were being considered in court.
