FACTBOX: Ukrainian drones strike Russian regions once again

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. Air defense systems neutralized and intercepted 77 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Russian regions this night, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

A drone strike in the Kaluga Region wounded an employee of an industrial enterprise.

TASS has gathered key details on the consequences.

The scale of the attack

- Between 8 p.m. Moscow time (5 p.m. GMT) on March 12 and 6:36 a.m. Moscow time (3:36 a.m. GMT) on March 13, air defenses on duty intercepted and destroyed 77 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, the Defense Ministry said.

- According to the agency, 30 UAVs were shot down over the Bryansk Region, 25 over the Kaluga Region, six each over the Kursk and Voronezh regions, and five each over the Rostov and Belgorod regions.

The aftermath

- The attack resulted in a blaze at an industrial plant in the Dzerzhinsky district of the Kaluga Region. Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported that an employee was injured there.

- In addition, a communications tower and a power supply line in the Khvastovichsky district were damaged as a UAV crashed.

- A fire ignited at an infrastructure facility in the Voronezh Region, Governor Alexander Gusev said on his Telegram channel, reporting no casualties.

- Dry grass caught fire after a drone crashed in the farm Kalininsky of the Sholokhovsky district in the Rostov Region, acting governor Yury Slyusar said. An industrial facility adjacent to the fire sustained no damage.

- As a result of the UAV crash, the infrastructure of one of the enterprises in the Tambov Region got partially destroyed, acting governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said on his Telegram channel.

- Damage to non-residential facilities was recorded in the Petrovsky district of the Saratov Region. According to preliminary reports, no casualties occurred, the head of the region Roman Busargin said on his Telegram channel.
