MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. The command of the battlegroup North reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the entry into the final stage of the operation to liberate the Kursk Region from the Ukrainian troops, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS.
"During his visit to one of the command centers in the Kursk Region, Putin heard the reports of the commander and the deputy commander of the battlegroup North, who reported to the supreme commander-in-chief on the progress of the operation, as well as on the entry into the final stage of the operation to liberate the territory of the Kursk Region from the troops that had infiltrated there," Peskov said.
On the evening of March 12, Putin visited one of the command posts in the Kursk Region. He set the task to defeat the Ukrainian military in the region as soon as possible and to create a security zone. The head of state asked to convey words of gratitude to all servicemen involved in the Kursk operation and declared the terrorist nature of the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries. Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces General Valery Gerasimov reported that the Ukrainian group in the Kursk Region was isolated, "its systematic destruction was underway."
The Ukrainian armed forces attacked Russia’s Kursk Region on August 6. According to the Defense Ministry, Kiev has lost up more than 66,810 servicemen since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk area.
