People in Europe disapprove of sending weapons to Ukraine — Lavrov

The Russian top diplomat cited the farmers’ protests going on in Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, France, and other EU countries

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. People in European countries object to flooding Ukraine with weapons, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"Not everyone in Europe approves of continuing to flood Ukraine with weapons. You see their rallies and protests," he said after talks with visiting Yemeni Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak.

He cited the farmers’ protests going on in Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, France, and other EU countries against cheap Ukrainian grain and other farming products on European markets.

"This is happening amid the non-stop accusations by European politicians, who see nothing around themselves, who are turning a blind eye to their countries’ problems but keep on saying that Russia is to blame for the severest food crisis in the world," the top Russian diplomat explained.

He noted that current food prices are lower than in 2021 and Europe is glutted with grain, which is sometimes simply tossed out.
