Kremlin slams Poland’s deployment of fresh tank battalion to Belarusian border

Dmitry Peskov pointed out that Belarus "knows what to do" in such a situation

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. The Polish authorities’ decision to deploy another tank battalion to the Belarusian border marks another step towards escalating tensions, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Undoubtedly, this is nothing but another step <...> towards escalating tensions," he said, when asked to comment on Warsaw’s move.

Peskov pointed out that Belarus "knows what to do" in such a situation. "They [the Belarusians] are doing everything that needs to be done in this situation in order to ensure security," the Russian presidential spokesman stressed.

On Saturday, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced plans to deploy a fresh tank battalion to the town of Siemiatycze near the border with Belarus.
