No agreements on meeting between Putin, Pope Francis — Kremlin

Earlier, Pope Francis expressed readiness to come to Moscow in order to meet with Vladimir Putin and discuss the settlement in Ukraine

MOSCOW, May 4. /TASS/. There are no agreements on a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pope Francis, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Wednesday.

"Such initiatives are submitted along the lines of diplomatic services. There are no agreements on meetings, and they were not made," the Kremlin official said.

He also did not assess the necessity of such a meeting. "In this case, there were no agreements in this respect and no specific initiatives were expressed," Putin’s press secretary concluded.
