Russia takes general info from US on potential terrorist attack into account — FSB head

It is reported that there was information that a terrorist attack was planned to be executed in a location other than at the concert of the rock band Picnic at the Crocus City Hall music venue

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. US authorities passed on general information to Russia about a potential terrorist attack, Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov told reporters, adding that the information was duly taken into account.

"This is general information about a terrorist attack in places of large public gatherings that was at the preparation stage. We responded to this information and took appropriate actions," he said.

"Unfortunately, our actions, which we took regarding specific groups and individuals, and this information were not substantiated at that time," Bortnikov said, adding that there was information that a terrorist attack was planned to be executed in a location other than at the concert of the rock band Picnic at the Crocus City Hall music venue. "There was such information; it was [passed on] at the beginning of March," he said.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just over the Moscow city limits. The current death toll is 139, and 182 people were injured. Eleven individuals suspected of being involved in the terrorist attack have been apprehended, including four gunmen, who were detained in the Bryansk Region, southwest of Moscow, as they attempted to seek refuge by crossing the nearby Ukrainian border.
