No fatalities reported in Ulyanovsk train collision

The Adler to Perm passenger train carrying nearly 400 people, including more than 90 children, crashed into a switcher locomotive at the 962nd kilometer of the Kuibyshev Railway

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Nobody has been seriously injured in a crash involving a passenger train and a diesel locomotive in the Ulyanovsk Region, Governor Dmitry Makhonin wrote on his Telegram channel.

"According to preliminary information, no one was seriously injured as a result of a collision involving a passenger train traveling from Adler to Perm and a diesel locomotive in the Ulyanovsk Region. Twenty-five people sought medical help. I am in touch with the relevant agencies and Russian Railways. We will be providing any necessary assistance to our fellow people," he wrote.

In the meantime, Russian Railways reported that the collision of the passenger train traveling from Adler to Perm with a locomotive in the Ulyanovsk Region was caused by a gross violation in the operation of the Bryandino train station, so the railways company launched an internal investigation.

"Russian Railways is conducting an internal investigation into the gross violation of the organization of the operation of Bryandino station, which led to a collision of Passenger Train 354 running from Adler to Perm with a switcher locomotive," Russian Railways wrote on its Telegram channel.

The Adler to Perm passenger train carrying nearly 400 people, including more than 90 children, crashed into a switcher locomotive at the 962nd kilometer of the Kuibyshev Railway. Nobody was killed as a result of the accident. The train and the locomotive neither derailed nor damaged the contact wire or railroad bed.
