MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Russia’s former Finance Minister and First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Sergey Aleksashenko (recognized as a foreign agent) has been put on the wanted list on a criminal charge, according to the Russian Interior Ministry’s criminal investigation base.
"Sergey V. Aleksashenko is on the wanted list on the Criminal Code’s article," according to the base.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) commission investigating foreign interference in Russia’s domestic affairs Vasily Piskaryov submitted a request to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation on November 16 due to anti-Russia activities by economists Sergey Guriyev and Sergey Aleksashenko recognized as foreign agents in the country. Elements of crime, including high treason, may be detected in their actions, Piskaryov said.
Aleksashenko who lives outside Russia now, worked as Russia’s Deputy Finance Minister from 1993 to 1995, and as First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia from 1995 to 1998.
