Eight people rescued from Chita house where blast took place — Emergencies Ministry

As the emergency services reported, a child, 5, was among the residents rescued from the house

MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. Eight people have been rescued from an apartment building in Chita, where a domestic gas explosion occurred on Thursday morning, the Russian Emergency Ministry's press service told TASS.

"Fire and rescue units saved eight people. Thirty-five people and nine units of equipment are working at the scene," the press service said.

As the emergency services reported, a child, 5, was among the residents rescued from the house.

The Russian Emergency Ministry received a report about a domestic gas explosion without subsequent combustion on the fifth floor of a five-story apartment building on Borovaya Street in Chita at 08:50 Moscow time. The ministry said that there was no information about victims. The Russian Interior Ministry’s Zabaykalsky Region branch earlier reported that, according to preliminary information, one person was injured.
