Deliveries of gas purchased with Russia's support start in Transnistria

Vadim Krasnoselsky also thanked Russia for help in overcoming the energy crisis

CHISINAU, February 14. /TASS/. Transnistria's President Vadim Krasnoselsky announced the arrival of the first batch of natural gas purchased with Russian assistance to the unrecognized republic.

"Gas arrived in Transnistria today. This delivery was made possible thanks to Russian credit assistance and the careful, meticulous, coordinated work of the team of the Russian Ministry of Energy," Krasnoselsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

Krasnoselsky also thanked Russia for help in overcoming the energy crisis. "On my own behalf and on behalf of all Transnistrians, I thank the Russian officials for supporting the Transnistrian people in a very difficult energy situation," Krasnoselsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

It was previously reported that the supplies would be made through European energy company MET Group. After Ukraine stopped the transit of Russian gas to Europe, as well as Chisinau's unwillingness to pay its debts to Gazprom, Moldova and Transnistria were left without the fuel. While Chisinau receives energy resources from European countries, which only affects the growth of tariffs for the population, Tiraspol found itself in a complete gas blockade. Transnistria introduced a rolling blackout regime, and apartment buildings had no heat or hot water at sub-zero temperatures outside.
