BAKU, December 27. /TASS/. Azerbaijan Airlines will continue flights to six cities in Russia, the airline's press service told TASS.
"Flights from Baku to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Astrakhan, Kazan, and Novosibirsk will continue as usual, of course, taking into account measures to ensure the safety of the crew and passengers," the airline said.
Azerbaijan Airlines announced the suspension of flights to Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Grozny, and Makhachkala from December 28 following the crash of its plane near Aktau on December 25.
An Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 passenger plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. There were 67 people on board - 62 passengers and 5 crew members, including citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. According to the latest information, 29 people survived the crash. There were 16 Russian citizens among the passengers, 9 survived, they were taken to Moscow and federal medical institutions.
