DUBAI, March 23. /TASS/. The death toll from new Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to 23, the Al Masirah TV channel reported.
"Twenty-three people were killed as a result of Israeli enemy raids on Khan Yunis and northern Rafah since dawn on Sunday," the TV channel said.
Earlier, the Al Jazeera channel reported that the Israeli military struck an ambulance near the city of Rafah in the south of the enclave. Israeli tanks are conducting intense fire in the Rafah area, and artillery is shelling the Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
On March 18, the Israeli army resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip, launching massive strikes on the enclave breaking the ceasefire established in January. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained this by the fact that the radical Palestinian movement Hamas had rejected proposals put forward at the talks by mediators and the US President's special envoy Steven Witkoff. It also stated that the goal of the operation in the Gaza Strip is to free all hostages. The radicals blamed Israel and the US for the resumption of hostilities.
