DUBAI, March 22. /TASS/. At least five people were killed and several others wounded in an Israeli Air Force strike on the al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV channel reported.

According to the report, the Israeli military also struck the southeastern city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza in recent hours and shelled the Netzarim corridor, along with the town of Rafah in the southern part of the enclave.

On March 18, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) delivered a series of mass strikes on Hamas-related facilities in the Gaza Strip. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attributed the operation to Hamas’ refusal to accept proposals put forward by mediators and US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The death toll from the latest escalation stands at around 600, with 200 children killed.
