New Russia-US talks on Ukraine won’t be held at ministerial level — diplomat

US State Department Spokeswoman Tammy Bruce did not say whether such contacts are possible in a trilateral format, involving not only Russia and the United States, but also Ukraine

WASHINGTON, March 19. /TASS/. A new round of talks between Russia and the United States on the settlement in Ukraine will not be held at the ministerial level, US State Department Spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said.

"It will be senior staff. That's all I can tell you. So it will not be principles (the top diplomats - TASS). It'll be senior staff addressing technical frameworks [of a possible ceasefire agreement in Ukraine]," she said. "It will be in the coming days," Bruce pointed out. At the same time, she said that the details are to follow in the very near future. "[US] President [Donald] Trump requested [that] it is happening quickly. And we'll see some results of that, I think, very soon," the diplomat said.

She did not say whether such contacts are possible in a trilateral format, involving not only Russia and the United States, but also Ukraine. "I think that's probably still being discussed or arranged, and so I can't really speak about the nature of the specifics of the arrangement, but It's enough to be able to work on technically draw up and deal with the nature of what was agreed upon in the call between the two presidents (Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump - TASS). There will be people there who will be able to do that," Bruce emphasized.

US leader's special envoy Steve Witkoff told the Fox News TV channel on March 18 that new contacts between Russia and the United States will take place "on Sunday in Jeddah.".
