Iran's deputy foreign minister conducts talks with IAEA chief on Iran's nuclear program

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on Iran-IAEA cooperation, the resolution of two outstanding issues, the security of nuclear facilities

DUBAI, March 17. /TASS/. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi held discussions on Tehran's nuclear program with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi in Vienna.

"I had a frank and constructive discussion with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). During the meeting, we exchanged views on Iran-IAEA cooperation, the resolution of two outstanding issues, the security of nuclear facilities, the latest developments surrounding the nuclear issue, and the lifting of sanctions," Gharibabadi wrote on his X social media page.

"While safeguarding its national security and interests, Iran remains committed to cooperating with the IAEA within the framework of its safeguards' obligations [under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty]," Gharibabadi emphasized.

Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based international organizations Mikhail Ulyanov said he was scheduled to meet with Chinese and Iranian diplomats on Monday. The meeting is a follow-up to the trilateral consultations held in Beijing on March 14.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov met with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi in the Chinese capital on Friday. They emphasized, in part, the complete inadmissibility of threats and the use of military force against Iranian nuclear infrastructure facilities.
