Israeli operations destroy around 4,000 homes, damage over 11,000 in southern Gaza — media

It has launched a dedicated online portal to collect preliminary data on war-damaged residential properties in the Gaza Strip that are uninhabitable and require complete or partial demolition

DUBAI, March 4. /TASS/. Over 11,000 residential houses have been severely damaged, and approximately 4,000 have been completely destroyed and rendered uninhabitable due to the Israeli army's military operations in the town of Rafah in southern Gaza, according to the Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV channel, citing the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

According to the agency, there are currently 4,000 houses in the city that are completely uninhabitable. The authorities require at least 70,000 tents to provide shelter for families who have lost their homes in Rafah. The agency also noted that the biggest obstacle to resuming normal life in the city is the continued presence of Israeli units in certain areas, which poses an ongoing threat to Palestinians. To facilitate the assessment of the destruction and begin stabilizing the situation across Rafah, the ministry emphasized the urgent need to "accelerate the withdrawal of occupation troops."

It has launched a dedicated online portal to collect preliminary data on war-damaged residential properties in the Gaza Strip that are uninhabitable and require complete or partial demolition.

According to the UN, 69% of all buildings in the Palestinian enclave have been destroyed or damaged, leaving over 1.8 million Gazans in need of temporary shelter.
