Macron praises Russia-US talks as ‘positive’

The president added that he considered it important to work together on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine because, among other things, it affects the security of Europe

NEW YORK, February 25. /TASS/. The talks between Russia and the United States are a normal and positive development, French President Emmanuel Macron told the Fox News TV channel.

When asked if he was concerned that Paris was not represented at the talks between the US and Russia, Macron said: "I'm relentless." "I'm not at the table [of these talks]. Look, when I discuss [things] with you, Russia is not at the table. When I discuss [things] with China, you are not at the table. <…> We were concerned about having a discussion on Ukraine without Ukraine, or European security, without the Europeans, but you have a lot of other topics between the US and Russia, and it's normal and positive to re-engage," he pointed out.

Macron added that he considered it important to work together on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine because, among other things, it affects the security of Europe.
