MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. The US tariffs on steel in the amount of 25% set to be imposed on March 12 will affect Ukraine’s metals industry, Ukrainian Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko said, adding that Kiev expects "the optimal solution" to be found.
"The US decision to impose tariffs on our steel on March 12 will naturally affect the steel industry," she wrote on her page on X social media.
"However, we are determined to actively work with partners to find the optimal solution until March 12," the minister noted.
On February 10, US President Donald Trump gave instructions to impose tariffs on all imports of steel and aluminum to the country amounting to 25%. Steel exports from Ukraine to the US were exempted from tariffs by former US President Joe Biden in 2022.
