Iran-Russia relations developing thanks to Putin’s efforts — official

As Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi noted, Iran's supreme leader and President Masoud Pezeshkian "pay great attention to the development and deepening of bilateral relations"

DUBAI, December 4. /TASS/. Iran-Russia relations are developing day by day in all spheres thanks to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, deputy head of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s office for international affairs, said.

"Iran’s supreme leader and President [Masoud Pezeshkian] pay great attention to the development and deepening of bilateral relations, and thanks to Vladimir Putin's efforts, relations are improving every day in all fields," Iran’s state broadcaster quoted the official as saying at a meeting in Moscow with Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, the head of the Spiritual Board of Russia’s Muslims.

Earlier, the Iranian embassy in Moscow reported that the deputy head of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s office had arrived in Russia on December 4 to hold a series of meetings with Russian religious leaders and Iranian students living in Russia.

On December 2, Putin and Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation. According to the Kremlin press service, the presidents discussed current issues of Russian-Iranian cooperation in various areas and drew up plans for future contacts.
