Israel violates ceasefire agreement multiple times — Lebanese army

According to the statement, the Lebanese military command "is keeping an eye on [Israel’s] violations in coordination with the relevant agencies"

BEIRUT, November 28. /TASS/. The Lebanese armed forces said in a statement on the X social media platform that the Israeli army has committed multiple violations of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.

"On November 27-28, 2024, the Israeli enemy ignored the agreement numerous times, violating [Lebanon’s] airspace and carrying out strikes inside Lebanon using various weapons," the statement reads.

According to the document, the Lebanese military command "is keeping an eye on [Israel’s] violations in coordination with the relevant agencies."

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces said that the country’s military detected "terrorist activity" at a Hezbollah rocket depot in southern Lebanon, which was then hit by an airstrike. This was the first strike on a Hezbollah target on Lebanese soil that the Israeli army reported after the launch of a ceasefire.

A ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, the first one since the onset of military activities in October 2023, took effect on the morning of November 27. US President Joe Biden announced that the accord between Israel and the Hezbollah movement would allow the Lebanese army and state security forces to restore control over the country’s territory within 60 days. Israeli troops will then be gradually withdrawn from Lebanon.
