G7 threatens ‘significant measures’ if Iran ships ballistic missiles to Russia — statement

Both Moscow and Tehran have previously repeatedly denied allegations of arms shipments to Russia for use on Ukrainian territory

ROME, March 15. /TASS/. The G7 member states are ready to take measures and provide a coordinated response, if Iran hands over ballistic missiles and related technologies to Russia, the G7 said in a statement, published by Reuters and ANSA.

The statement, cited by ANSA, points out that the G7 is "extremely concerned" that Iran is allegedly "considering transferring ballistic missiles and related technology to Russia."

"We call on Iran not to do so, as it would add to regional destabilization and represent a substantive material escalation in its support for Russia’s war in Ukraine," the statement reads.

"We are prepared to respond swiftly and in a coordinated manner including with new and significant measures," the document says.
