Ukraine sees potential for Russia to break through defenses by summer — Bloomberg

According to the report, Ukrainian forces struggle to counter Russian attacks in the area of the special military operation

NEW YORK, February 29. /TASS/. Kiev is concerned that Russian forces could break through Ukrainian defenses by summer unless Western countries ramp up ammunition supplies, Bloomberg reported, citing a source.

Ukraine’s assessments of battlefield situation are growing "increasingly bleak" as its forces struggle to counter Russian attacks in the area of the special military operation, while rationing how many shells they can fire, the report said. Officials in Kiev believe Russian advances could gain significant momentum by the summer, according to the report.

Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Aleksander Syrsky said on Thursday that the situation in the Avdeyevka and Zaporozhye areas remained difficult for Ukrainian troops. He conceded that the command made some poor decisions and said there was a need to engage reserves.
