EU fails to agree 10th package of anti-Russian sanctions again — agency

According to Reuters, the package was again blocked by Poland, which says that a number of exclusions for supplies of Russian rubber to the European Union make the new measures non-effective

MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. The EU ambassador have failed to agree the tenth package of anti-Russian sanctions that were supposed to be imposed by February 24, Reuters said on Friday, citing diplomats.

According to the diplomats, the package was again blocked by Poland, which says that a number of exclusions for supplies of Russian rubber to the European Union make the new measures non-effective. These exclusions were initiated by Italy.

A source in Brussels told TASS earlier that despite the differences "all EU countries agree on the main thing that the tenth package is to come into effect on February 24."

The European Union plans to blacklist 62 more individuals and 28 organizations, including three banks - Alfa Bank, Tinkoff, and Rosbank. Sanctions are expected to cover the National Welfare Fund, the Ingosstrakh insurance company, the Patriot and Rossiya Segodnya media groups, the All-Russian Popular Front, the London-based Pawell Shipping, which is suspected of illegal shipping of Ukrainian grain. The EU also plans to block the Arab-language broadcasting of RT and Sputnik.
