Russian-Turkmen strategic partnership proven by life experience – ex-president

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that during his visit to Russia a historic document was signed - the Agreement on the establishment of an inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation

MOSCOW, November 4. /TASS/. The strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia has been proven by time and life experience, Turkmenistan’s former President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who now chairs the upper house of the country’s parliament, said.

"Turkmenistan and Russia are strategic partners. We have apparently proven it by time and life experience. Our partnership keeps growing and expanding, in other words, it keeps progressing," he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.

The ex-president added that a historic document was signed during his visit to Russia - an agreement on creating an inter-parliamentary cooperation commission.

"We will keep moving along this path," Berdymukhamedov said.
